Harvest time at the daycare center

There was a lot going on at our Sunshine Kids daycare center this week—especially in the Birds and Butterflies groups! The children worked hard harvesting fruit from their own garden. They picked apples, blueberries, and raspberries —all fresh, delicious, and picked by themselves.

The blueberries were used as a topping for yogurt —a healthy and fruity snack that was well received by everyone.

The children even used the apples to bake an apple pie themselves! First, the apples were thoroughly washed, peeled, and cut into small pieces. Then the children carefully spread the apple pieces over the cake batter—and into the oven it went!

The next day, the moment had finally arrived: the apple pie was sampled—and everyone agreed: it was delicious!

Our children's kitchen was put to good use once again—a great example of how much fun cooking and baking together can be.

We are already looking forward to the next garden project!
